One beautiful buckaroo

So, this morning we had the photo shoot for Eleanor's birthday invitations. We're doing a Texas-style cookout, which is probably cheesy since we don't live in Texas, but almost everyone who's coming has lived in Texas, so I thought it would be fun. (That one, long rambling sentence was designed to convince you and me both that the Texas party will be cute.) Anyway, I threw on Eleanor's new Osh-Kosh overalls and plopped her in the grass and started shooting away. Here are some of the ones that I didn't choose for the invitation. I'll post the invitation after I've mailed them.

I know I'm the mom and this might be bragging, but how stinkin' cute is my kid?! I just can't get enough of that girl!!

Sorry about the double comment. Hit the button twice, I guess. But she's worth 2 comments!

She IS stinkin' cute!!!! I love your Texas-style cookout theme! What a great idea, Megan! Can't wait to see what the final invites are! Does she wear the hat? ;-)

OH, I've been meaning to ask you what lens you like to use with your pictures. Do you have a 50mm 1.8?

Janice-

Yes, I took these with the 50mm- 1.8. It's my favorite to use inside, and I used it outside on these because it's better than our other most similar lens (which is a cheaper one). We also have a zoom lens that takes amazing pictures, but it's not very practical with a baby because you have to be so far away from the subject. I also hate taking it places because we seriously look like the paparazzi. I like our wide angle (16-35mm- 2.8) for shots like the room shots I posted of the house.

My husband was the one that started getting into photography, and bought all the gear. I just sort of picked it up when I wanted to capture Eleanor's cute moments while he is at work. :)

I love the pictures and the idea of a Texas bday party is PERFECT! I did a Valentine party for Grace since she was born on Valentines Day.

Looks like you guys had fun at the beach too!

Hope the bday party goes well... wish we could make it! :(

Lucky you!!!! I wish my hubby was as crazy about photography as I am! He doesn't mind being in front of the camera, though (ha-ha!) :-p
