What's going on

  • Eleanor's new doctor thinks that her unwillingness and inability to sleep may be due to the fact that her tonsils and adenoids are enlarged, and basically, she can't breathe. She's on FIVE prescription meds, which seems to really be helping her sleeping longer periods of time at night. We go back tomorrow to talk with him again. The verdict will either be that she's better or that her tonsils and adenoids need to come out.
  • And then there's bedtime...It still stinks for the most part, but it's getting a little shorter. Last night, I only had to stay for 30 minutes while she fell asleep, and tonight only 20. I'm probably jinxing myself by saying this, but tonight, she did not thrash around like she was possessed or scream like a wild banshee at all. Vast improvement over what we've been doing for the past, oh, seven weeks or so.
  • Jared's phone ran out of minutes, so he can't call me anymore. We can chat online, but that means I have to stay up until 11 PM to talk to him when he gets up for work. That would be fine, if sleeping until around 6 were a predictable pattern for me. Not there yet. But I still stay up. I miss him so much.
  • I think I'll start highlighting the keypoints of all wordy posts. No one has time to read all of this, right?
  • My 10-year high school reunion is on Friday. (And Lisa will be there! Did anyone know that I went to high school with her hubbie? Cool, right?) The girl planning the thing asked me to take some pictures. Annoying.

You shouldn't have to take pictures at your own reunion. Lame.

Does it not work for him to call when he is going to bed? His schedule might be erratic, so it makes you have to be at home for a little chunk of the morning. But it's better than having to stay up so late every night.

He's too sleepy after working like 16 hours or whatever. :(

I pray that things improve with Eleanor. I know surgery would be a scary thing, but if it would give you your sleep back, it would probably be worth it. It's a super tough call, that's a lot of meds, but surgery is no fun to think about.

I'd stay up too. Right now you really need that connection and support.

The highlighting is nice but I still read every word. :-) You wanna know something funny? I cannot remember for the life of me how I started reading your or Lisa's blogs. Hmm. It is such an endless circle but I love it!

Okay first off, glad Miss Eleanor seems to be doing a little better. Baby steps right? Secondly, call or post as soon as you go to doctor! I'm dying to know what he says. I just want you to have your sanity back!! And finally, the reunion is tomorrow... yeah! I finally found a cute dressy top (from Banana Republic outlet...love that store!) and I'm wearing it with nice jeans and heals. I'll probably still be overdressed! HA!! Can't wait to see you!!

Oh and I like the highlighting. It's perfect for folks like me that sometime do skim :)

Maybe not many others read all your blog but we do! 2 or 3 times! Glad little one is a little better. Let us know what the Dr. says today, OK?

Poor Eleanor! She really has been through a lot the past couple of months. I hope everything does settle down for her and you and if it is the adenoids and tonsils that need to come out. I will be thinking and praying for you, because you have had so much to deal yourself.

I can't believe you were asked to take pictures for your reunion, that is totally lame! It's crazy what people ask of you when you are a photographer, or a wanna be one like me. Try to have a great time though.

PS: You and Jared should download Skype, if you both have a web camera, you'll be able to talk for free and even IM. I know it doesn't help with your bedtime issue though. Just a suggestion.

PSS, I try to read word for word, most days I do, but sometimes I am a skimmer when I am watching little Kayla. Sorry, I didn't "get" your Eleanor sleeping post until you did the highlight. I totally skimmed that day. DOH! Am I forgiven?
